Link to Evidence
I have chosen my inquiry based action plan as one of the pieces of evidence to demonstrate my learning thus far in OLTD 501. This action plan was created with an eye to furthering my research into a specific topic that I will one day turn into a final project for OLTD510 and a masters project for my Masters of Education. I chose to focus on a topic that impacts me both in the classroom as well as in my role as a technology coordinator - that of technological change management in an educational setting.
In creating this document I was able to examine the current research around change management in both workplace and educational environments. This has really allowed me to become more interested in the topic for further elaboration as well as provide me with a good basis right now when I am working with changes in my educational environment. This also allowed me to develop the technical skills of properly researching and citing various academic sources.
The research was very interesting both because it provided me with some useful ideas for how other companies managed technological change but also because it allowed me to explore how I currently address change management in my role at work. I have begun to see the value in creating a culture around the change that I am proposing before moving forward with the actual planning and execution of that change. In addition, the importance of gaining a strong proponent in the senior administration was an interesting idea and one that I will try and bring forward the next time I am looking to integrate some new technologies into my school.
I am pleased with the beginnings of my inquiry action plan and look forward to developing it further. I was able to further develop my research and summarization skills in an academic setting which will serve me well not only in this program but also in my classroom. Being able to better find current pedagogical theory will assist myself and my students.
I look forward to expanding on this initial first step and eventually turning it into a full masters project.
