OLTD Program Outcome Addressed:
As always in these creation assignments, the actual process of creating lessons furthers me as an educator not only because it provides me with yet another series of lessons I could use in a classroom but also because the actual act of designing these lessons forces me to consider the resources that I use to design them. Furthermore, the requirement to include a new theory within this design caused me to better understand how the 4-C’s could impact the design of future lessons and mobile technology in general.
As the primary role of a teacher is to design good, coherent lessons that allow learners to understand the content being presented, the act of actually designing these lessons is important. It is also important in my development as a blended learning teacher to have experience in working with a variety of tools and processes such as the 4-C’s or mobile devices. Finally, ensuring that the lesson I create is appropriate for all of the learners in my classes is an important consideration and one that I can take with me into my future lesson creation.
- Demonstrate basic competency with design and implementation within a variety of online learning environments and tools
- Plan learning opportunities most suitable to the strengths and challenges of a variety of environments
- Develop and design intentional learning activities suitable for the appropriate environment and the learner
- Select strategies and resources appropriate for environment, learners and learning outcomes
- Create assessment and evaluation methods/tools most suitable to the strengths and challenges of online environments
- Develop practical and technical skills in all phases of concept, development, design, implementation, etc.
