I love working in the classroom, however, I equally love the strategic planning and long-range thinking of a technology coordinator position. I would like to utilize the knowledge and skills that I learn in this masters program in order to move into a technology leadership position within an independent school in British Columbia.
I will never fully leave the classroom - it is very important to be both as a person (working with young adults is very enjoyable) as well as a professional (keeping up with "in the classroom" questions and concerns). Thus, while I hope to be able to guide a school in it's long range technology planning and assist teachers in the integration of technology into their classrooms I will also ensure that I remain, first and foremost, a teacher.
I hope that the OLTD program better prepares me to manage the technological change that comes with creating a more blended learning environment in a school based setting. Thus, I’m looking forward to engaging in discussion and readings that will better allow me to deliver my own blended learning environment as well as assist others in creating theirs.
